Putting Your Priorities in Place

Each day I begin my day writing things I need to accomplish… a “To-Do” list if you will. I prioritize every task in order to ensure that I stay on track. While this may seem a bit over the top for some, for me it’s how I stay focused and on track. The first priority on my list is praying, praising, and reading God's word. It seems the older I get the faster time goes by. Sometimes it feels like there are not enough hours in the day to get everything done. Everyone has so much going on and it seems that we can never get ahead, if its not one thing it’s another, but we must remember that sometimes we need to set priorities in our life. We need parameters; we need to re-focus our thoughts, direction and objectives. Our first priority is to have a personal relationship with God; this is the key to having it all. God wants to have a personal relationship with you, he wants to spend time with you, he wants to go places with you, and he wants quality time with you. I encourage you to spend time with God each day by reading His Word, praying, worshipping and meditating. Jesus says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”, when you put God first in your life he has promised that other things you desire, want or need will be added to your life. What a wonderful way to live your life, making God your priority in everything you do!

  1. Pastor Ron: I definitely agree that we should keep our priorities in order; beginning first and foremost with God and the things of God-reading his word, praying, praising, worshipping and meditating. Meditation truly works for me; it allows me the opportunity to first and foremost get centered in God. It allows me to take a deeper look inside of myself so that I may challenge myself to reach a higher level in God and in life. I have found that when I put God first I am able to overcome the adversity in my life and just rest in the Lord.
